HGVT offers low cost, and high-quality DVSA approved HGV training in London which can drastically improve your job prospects, earning potential and lifestyle. With access to our six training centres across the London, we can guarantee you that you will not be more than 5-10miles away from our training centre. Some of you might be looking for LGV training and may be confused if it’s different training or vehicle. But both HGV and LGV mean the same thing. HGV stands for ‘heavy good vehicle’, while LGV stands for ‘large goods vehicle’. Which term is used is entirely down to where in the world you are, with HGV being a UK standard and LGV more of a standard European way of describing the same thing.
We at HGV Training will take care of the entire process for you from Medical – Theory – CPC & Practical test and training. Our specialist team will guide you through the whole course, get the paperwork done for you and help you find work after training. So you can concentrate on training as fast as possible to get on the job market. Having experience of training over 200 drivers every month we have mastered the art and found that perfect formula which works every time for our drivers during training and helps them to pass the test first time.
We have training centres all over the UK, and over six centres in London where you can take advantage of our LGV/HGV Training courses taught by experienced, friendly and DVSA certified instructors.
Our pass rate is extremely high (92%) with our pass-protection, whereas industry pass rate is just 55%. So if you come and train with us to drive a lorry professionally, it’s highly likely you’ll be able to search and apply for jobs driving these types of commercial vehicles within a matter of weeks.
Whether you already drive for a living or not, HGV training can turn your career and enhance your earning potential to £650+ per week. Once you can drive these widely-used commercial vehicles, you could find yourself driving all over the UK/EU, getting paid for doing something you love, and never being out of work again. Our courses are suitable for anyone who has the right requirements on their licence to take the next step up, which is known as upgrading your licence. However, you don’t need to have any commercial driving experience. To begin with, all you need is a regular car licence, and you need to be 18+.
From here you can go on to earn your Cat C1, which is for the smallest type of haulage vehicle. This allows you to drive vehicles weighing between 3,500kg and 7,500kg, with or without a trailer weighing up to 750kg. After this point, you can also go on to earn your Cat C1+E. This is the licence you will need if you want to drive vehicles weighing between 3,500kg and 7,500kg, with a trailer weighing more than 750kg.
It’s also possible to jump from a Cat B licence to your Cat C licence, with which you can drive vehicles over 3,500kg, with a trailer up to 750kg. The largest vehicles can be driven with a Cat C+E licence, which enables you to drive category C vehicles with a trailer over 750kg, and you can get this once you’ve got your Cat C licence.
London is one of the UK's largest logistical hub you will never be out of the job if you're willing to work. HGV drivers in London normally earn from £45,000-£50,000 per year (for starters) to £55000-£65,000 per year (for experienced), depending on the number of hours and the company you work for.
You can still train with us and upgrade your licence if you have an EU driving licence rather than a UK driving licence. All you need to do is get a D91 form from the DVLA by completing a D9 application form. Once you get your paperwork back from the DVLA you’ll have the driving licence number and the form you need to book your training with us.
HGV Training can provide you with high quality but affordable training to get you into the kind of job you want, driving one of a large number of different commercial vehicles. There is a surplus of jobs in HGV driving, a field which is currently around 10,000 drives short of what’s needed, so your chance of finding a job once you’ve passed your test are extremely high. In fact, after your HGV Training in London, you can start working in the capital almost right away if you like. Whether you want to drive a lorry, a tipper truck, a forklift or a bin lorry, we can teach you quickly and efficiently so you can get out there and start work. We also take care of all of the paperwork for you, including arranging your test, sorting your provisional licence, and even helping you to find the right job. Our instructors are experienced and have been recruited for their ability to get you passed, fast, and to produce safe and efficient professional drivers who are responsible on the roads. They have all the knowledge and skills to teach you how to pass the test first time, and the rest is down to you. Once you have passed, your earning potential is huge, depending on how far you want to progress with your ongoing training.
You can continue to train and to upgrade your licence to include more and more categories if you like. In addition, we can provide you with the additional 35 hours of training you will need to complete every 5 years in order to keep your Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (or Driver CPC).
HGV training Services (HGVT) trains over 200 people per month. We are the UK’s largest specialist vehicle training company, training for some of the UK’s biggest organisations.
