Delivery Van Hijacking Guildford

In what can only be described as a shocking incident, a delivery van driving in Guildford was hijacked late in the afternoon this past Wednesday (May 28). News reports say the attack occurred near the Cathedral Hill Industrial Estate at about 16:45. No one was injured in the incident.

According to reports, the delivery driver told police he was heading out of the estate in his Mercedes van when another van pulled directly in front of him. Once stopped, four men jumped out of the second van and immediately began issuing threats. One of the men jumped into the delivery van and drove it to the Ladymead Retail Park, where it was emptied of its parcels. The thieves got away with jewellery and other items.

The driver gave Surrey police a description of the four thieves. The police are now asking for help from any witnesses who might have information about the incident. The investigation is ongoing at this time.

An Unfortunate Incident

We are more than disappointed to hear of this unfortunate incident in Guildford. We are happy to know that the driver was not harmed in any way. It certainly could have been much worse had the thieves decided they did not want witnesses to the crime. Any harm being caused to the driver would have made the situation truly tragic.
