If you’ve been looking for a creative way to get to the annual Glastonbury Festival without driving your own car or taking the train, you could always become a PCV driver and then join a bus company servicing the festival with coaches. In all seriousness, working as a driver would not allow you to stay at the festival for five days of great music and good times with friends, but there is still something to be learned here.
According to The Telegraph, National Express will be offering coach service to Glastonbury from sites all over England. The five-day festival runs from Wednesday, 24 June through until Sunday, 28 June. National Express coaches will pick up festivalgoers and transport them directly to the site. The advantages of this sort of transport are many.
For festival attendees, travelling by coach mitigates the stress of being a driver stuck in traffic. It also saves fuel and gives you the opportunity to make new friends on the way to and from the event. For professional drivers, Glastonbury represents yet another opportunity to earn a living that supports a family. Everybody wins because National Express is meeting the needs of paying customers.
There may be other bus companies that we do not know about running a service to and from Glastonbury this year. If you are planning to go, you can contact festival organisers for more information about transportation options. If you are not going, are you looking to begin a new career as a coach driver? If so, the HGV Training Centre can help.
To work as a PCV driver, you have to have the right kind of licence. Getting a PCV licence is a matter of filling out the appropriate paperwork, passing a routine medical exam, taking and passing the PCV theory test, undergoing practical skills training and taking and passing your final practical skills test. The process may seem long and complicated, but it really is not.
Our goal at the HGV Training Centre is to make earning your licence as fast and easy as possible. We do so by helping you every step of the way. For example, you could call us today to enrol in our PCV theory test preparation classes. As part of that enrolment, we would be happy to assist you in making sure your medical and provisional entitlement paperwork has been handled properly. We can also enrol you in practical skills training to begin upon passing the theory test.
Once the practical skills training begins, we will put you through a comprehensive programme that includes both classroom and hands-on training. By the time you complete the training, you will be more than prepared to take your final test. However, we will not leave you to do it by yourself. Rather, we will send one of our trainers with you to the testing site on the day of your test. It is all part of our commitment to every future PCV driver coming through our doors.
