A brand-new distribution centre slated to be built in Wiltshire offers the potential to create some 1,200 new jobs even as it supports the addition of 400 new Home Bargains stores across England. Home Bargains owner TJ Morris said they plan to spend upwards of £70 million to build the new facility and adjacent store.

The facility will act as both a distribution centre and the key hub to support the company’s expansion plans over the next five years. At more than 1.3 million ft.², the depot will have more than enough space to handle the retail chain’s inventory as it is distributed to individual outlets.

More important is the reason Wiltshire was chosen as the location for the distribution centre. According to TJ Morris, the main advantage lies in the fact that 98% of the South of England is accessible within 4.5 hours from Wiltshire. The company’s fleet of HGVs can easily make deliveries while maximising efficiency and resources.
