You should know that the HGVT (HGV Training Services LTD) Training Centre does more than just training new lorry drivers looking to earn their first commercial driving licence. We are also a provider of comprehensive training services to motoring companies of all sizes. We provide Driver CPC training, remedial training for fleet drivers, company-specific training for specialised services, and so on. We even offer non-professional training for individuals who want to tow trailers or utilise horseboxes.

Local and Convenient

One of the secrets of our success is our sheer size. We have built a network of more than four-dozen training facilities throughout the UK. Furthermore, our centres are strategically located to make them as convenient as possible to as many students as we can. There is likely a training facility close enough to where you live to make training convenient.

We have not expanded to this degree accidentally. Rather, making training convenient has been part of our long-range vision since the HGVT (HGV Training Services LTD) Training Centre was first established. One-Stop Training Centre

Our size offers a number of advantages that make us a better training company. For example, we would like to think of ourselves as your one-stop training provider for your entire lorry driving career. You can begin your journey with us by taking your initial training at one of our facilities. After you earn your licence and get to work, you can return to the HGVT (HGV Training Services LTD) Training Centre to get the additional Driver CPC training you need throughout your career. Keep in mind that the CPC certificate must be renewed every five years.

Our one-stop philosophy has led us to offer our students a full range of support services that you might not find being made available by other training providers. For example, we provide all of our new students with state-of-the-art software enabling them to prepare for the HGV theory test. The software gives them the information they need to pass the test as well as the opportunity to take as many practice tests as they want.

No one-stop training centre would be complete without job placement assistance. You can find that at the HGVT (HGV Training Services LTD) Training Centre as well. All of the drivers who finish our training programme are given full access to our jobs database. Furthermore, we provide job-seeking advice and placement services designed to get our drivers working as soon as possible after training.

Industry Support and Information

Some training companies cut the cord with their students as soon as training is complete. Not us. We seek to continue providing support for drivers as they look to get their careers established. Not only that, but we are also members of a number of prominent trade groups that offer our drivers even more support.

One of the more well-known organisations we belong to is known as the Freight Transport Association (FTA). The FTA is one of the leading voices in the haulage and transport industries in the UK. They are constantly in the news as they seek to improve the industries through education, policy-making, lobbying, marketing, and so forth. They are currently involved in a very public campaign to urge the government to get more involved in providing driver training.

We also belong to The Logistics Guild. This organisation provides a voice for more than 2 million lorry driving professionals who would otherwise remain both nameless and faceless. As a member company, we support the guild as they support the nation’s drivers.

Lastly, we are an approved member of the Driver CPC scheme implemented by the government. Being an authorised provider means we are authorised to offer a full range of courses enabling professional drivers to meet their CPC requirements. Some of the courses we offer are considered ‘off-the-shelf’ courses that would be suitable for any driver or company. Other courses are custom-designed to meet the particular needs of our corporate customers.

Financing Your Training

All of the possibilities of a lorry driving career our useless if students cannot afford to pay for their training. We understand that. We also know that many of our students do not have the money necessary to get training started. Thanks to our ‘Train Now, Pay Later’ programme, you do not need to have the cash up front.

We partner with Pay4Later to provide financing for every class we offer. Qualifying students can finance their entire training package with no need to repay the financing until training is complete. You can train now while deferring to pay for your training until you start working. By the way, we are the only HGV training provider in the UK to partner with Pay4Later to offer this service.
